Course Description: The biopsychospiritual experiences of cis and trans women during perimenopause and menopause have been historically—and often remain—misunderstood, pathologized, or ignored. Historically, responses ranged from unwarranted psychiatric hospitalization to a complete lack of care, with Women of Color and Indigenous women bearing the heaviest impact of these systemic failures. This four-hour course reframes these normative transitions, moving beyond a hormonal lens to view them as profound initiations into psychospiritual transformation. The class emphasizes liberatory, relational, and experiential approaches, including the sober expansion of consciousness through complex sonic compositions. Participants will listen to these compositions and reflect on their personal experience.
